Chef Jessica Yarr is a long-standing talent in the Santa Cruz County food world and has been rising as a leader and creator over the past decade. We first began work with Yarr when she was running the kitchen at Assembly. She cooked for two Pop-Up Breakfasts in the early days and did a beautiful job of it. This year she returns with more skill and vision. We are so glad this Felton local is investing her imagination and cooking capacity right here.
Acclaimed for her well-balanced background in both pastry and savory, Jessica Yarr is the Executive Chef/Owner of the innovative plant-forward cafe and bakery, The Grove, in Felton. She also operates the popular pop-up restaurant Chicken Foot which focuses on plant-based Eastern European comfort food; Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market regulars took pleasure in this project for two years when Chicken Foot vended at that market. The Brunch Shift is a playful brunch concept that rotated through the markets and continues at other pop-up venues. Yarr also owns Forest Fare, offering a unique and elevated catered experience.
And we realize are celebrating chef parents this year. Jessica is another parent of three and has held it down, pushing forward her chefing and creative life, while raising the next generation. Cheers! Let’s celebrate with her on July 26th. This meal is is going to be shut-the-front-door delicious.
