The Westside Market

The Westside Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday, year round at the corner of Hwy 1 and Western Drive. Here we serve the communities of the west end of Santa Cruz including Bonny Doon, the North Coast and the University of California,  Santa Cruz campus. Sitting on the northern edge of Santa Cruz’s greenbelt this market is a great launching location for a day outdoors at Natural Bridges beach, Wilder Ranch or any adventure spot up the coast. It is also just a hop, skip and a jump, or bike ride, from Downtown.

A community hub for over 15 years, the Westside Market showcases a great selection of 100% certified organic produce, artisan foods, body products, tinctures, sustainable seafood, pasture-raised meats, flowers and eggs along with cook-to-order cultural meals, live local music and a full espresso bar operated by Foolhardy Coffee. With an abundance of free parking and accessibility on its side, this market makes for a convenient and celebratory Saturday morning outing any time of the year.

Market Match & EBT

In August of 2023 we received additional funding to raise the Market Match program to a dollar-for-dollar match up to $15; $15 of EBT is matched with $15 in Market Match for fresh fruits and vegetables. We will be rolling out this special month-to-month and will announce any changes. The standard Market Match Program offers farmers’ market customers a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10 on their CalFresh (food stamp) cards. If a customer swipes their CalFresh card for seven dollars, they get seven dollars in Market Match (MM) tokens for free. Swipe for $10 EBT and receive $10 MM. Swipe for $20 EBT and receive $10 MM – the match maxing out at $10. The goal of this project is to encourage CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) recipients to take advantage of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. By offering an incentive that makes fresh produce more affordable we help shoppers stretch their food dollars while buying nutritious food. Locate the information booth and the market manager to redeem EBT coins and to participate in the Market Match Program.

Pop-Up Breakfast Series

The 2025 Pop-Up Breakfast Series will bring two spectacular mornings to the area – one in Scotts Valley with chef Gema Cruz of Gabriella Cafe and the second with chef Rodrigo Sema of La Posta at the Westside Market. Details to be announced. Learn more about the events here.
