Diego Felix grew up near Buenos Aires where his vegetarian upbringing inspired a rebellious passion for vibrant, diverse flavors. His travels through Latin America shifted his career path from theater to the culinary arts, leading him to train in both Argentina and at San Francisco’s renowned vegan restaurant, Millennium. Combining his background in holistic, farm-to-table cooking with deep research into indigenous South American ingredients, he co-founded Casa Felix in the 2000s in Buenos Aires. Based in Santa Cruz for close to a decade nos, and active in the Slow Food movement, Diego is the founder and happy owner of Fonda Felix.
Diego headed up a fabulous pop-up breakfast in 2024 and we’re happy to share he is back for more. Partnership and collaboration are at the center of his food work and we at the markets appreciate this orientation. Diego is creative, enthusiastic and a little on fire – excited to work alongside other cooks and create something that is driven by the regional harvest and harkens back to a place or a time. He is also a parent of three, which calls for a bit of wildness. Let’s do this! Together again!

Higher priced tickets raise funds for our programs – supporting neighborhood farmers’ markets to thrive and serve as fundamental partners in community health in our county. Your contributions bolster our free educational event series and food access programs.
