We at the Markets are experimenting with fundraising strategies. The Pop-Up Breakfast Series covers some of the costs associated with of our free, public education programs such as the Foodshed Project. It also raises the profile of the Markets at large. But, to continue to have a dynamic presence in Santa Cruz County, spreading the word regarding the importance of regional, responsible agriculture, we need to kick it up a notch. The economy for farms is super rough, we do not want to lay the cost of our programming on their shoulders via increased fees. We are looking to our community, you fans of the farmers’ markets, to sustain and grow the work we do.
